This photo was taken at Cherry and Hill street looking toward downtown Long Beach.  This property was once owned by our first Mayor, Jessie Nelson and filled with lemon trees.

  Today you would be looking at City Hall that was built in this location in 1934.

Back when Gas was a mere .25¢ a gallon.  GEMCO store at 33rd and Atlantic.  

Most of you will recognize the location as your local Target store.  ca 1968-1971.

Gertrude Bebe was on council from April 1968  thru March 1976 and Mayor from March 1974 - March 1975
